Open Data / Knowledge Graph Project
The cross-border availability of high-quality tourism data is essential for Germany as a tourism location to maintain and expand its position in international competition in the long term. Only by opening up data and engaging in dialog across organizational and national boundaries can service providers and DMOs position themselves in the roles in the value chain that have changed as a result of the digital transformation.
Therefore, the expansion of digitalization in tourism as well as the general promotion of digital innovations is a top priority. To this end, the Open Data / Knowledge Graph project was initiated. It is a joint project of the German National Tourist Board (GNTB), the state tourism organizations (LTO) and Magic Cities.
With Open Data and the Knowledge Graph, the prerequisite for the Digital Transformation towards Artificial Intelligence is created. This secures Germany as a tourism location, strengthens competitiveness and promotes tourist regions as well as digital innovations in tourism and beyond.
The Knowledge Graph has been accessible to the public since June 2023.
